Point of the pool: To provide an proxy service for all miners and equalize the hash performance across all pools to prevent a monopoly on hashing, for in the case if one pool should go down, the hashing will be redistributed to the other remaining pools.
But wait, I can hear you say, what about *your* proxy going down? Well, we'll try to prevent it from happening. In the past people have seen me frantically working on fixing the issue at hand, going without sleep for days to restore the service. The same amount of dedication can be expected with this proxy service.

One of the other benefits of this proxy pool is that you are *guaranteed* to get paid, since your shares will count towards the round total which includes multiple pools.
